A Love Letter,

From the desk of Marsha Amanova

February 2022

Greetings!

I hope you are well and (if you're in the Northern hemisphere) enjoying a bit more light in your days.

The weather app described this morning as "bitterly cold." Compared to the winters I remember in Alberta it's not that bad, but when the wind blows here... it's frightful. At least the sun is shining! We've had some wild weather this month: everything from intense winds to huge dumps of snow, a fair bit of rain, and a few lovely warm days.

We did have one beautiful spring-like Saturday this month, so we took a wee trip to Tatamagouche to walk the trails there, hit the local market and enjoy a TataBrew on the patio.

We had a good month with our Airbnb. NS folks from the Halifax area (and beyond) are staying here to access the ski hill in the Wentworth Valley which is only a 20-25 minute drive away. We had 3/4 weekends booked this month, and a couple more coming up in March, so that's nice. It's given us a chance to get some good reviews in preparation for summer bookings. Soon we'll be requiring longer stays though - it's a lot of work to do all that laundry/cleaning for a couple of nights.

I've found a way to get back into reading: I'm allowing myself to read more than one book at a time, which is something I never used to do. I'm enjoying being able to switch it up if I'm having trouble focusing on one or the other. I'd rather pick up a different book than turn on the tv or go online during my reading time. I'm experimenting with having both a fiction and non-fiction option. So far it's working really well, and I'm definitely reading more. Right now I'm really loving Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. I'm reading one chapter per day and letting it seep in. Highly recommended!

Have you read anything particularly good lately?

I haven't been writing much other than my morning journal, but I did discover that I took a lot of photos of the sky this month...

Spring is coming next month, and so is my birthday! I don't have any plans (yet), but I image it will be pretty low key. If I do something online, would you be interested in joining me/us? Reply and let me know and I'll make sure you get an invite.

Wishing you peace, love and joy.
Until next month, I'm Marsha Amanova and I love 🥰
