July 2023

Hi! July is over. It was a wonderful, intense month. We had Ava for the first two weeks and Aldon's mom Elsie joined us for a week. We all camped out in our little flat and had a lovely time together. We stayed pretty close to home because we STILL don't have a vehicle. We got by with a couple of rental cars and the kindness and generosity of my parents and our friends.
We managed a day trip with Ava to Halifax for some thrifting, sushi and bubble tea
We spent lots of time walking Pugwash and visiting the beach with Elsie & Ava. We had pretty great weather while they were here.
We don't often sit out on our front stoop, but we needed the shade.
We played a couple of gigs this month: Two+1 did a family reunion BBQ party for friends of my dad's, and Aldon and I joined "The Abandoned House Band" on the big stage for Harbourfest this past weekend.

The farmers' market has been awesome and super busy. My other jobs are also busy (library, websites, airbnb) - I've got very little spare time in the summer, and what I do have I want to relax and enjoy, so I'm not going to feel bad about such a brief letter this month (or last month, or next month either!!)

We've been really fortunate to not have been affected much by the forest fires or flooding in the province. Thanks to everyone who reached out to check in on us (or even if we were in your thoughts). All is well!

🥰
Love, Marsha
