Hello!
Well, here we are. It has been an absolute whirlwind of a month, but we've landed at Cameron Beach, and I am so grateful to my parents for having us here.
|
The rental situation in Nova Scotia seems pretty dire right now, but we are hoping that maybe once summer cottage season comes to an end that we can find something more permanent.
|
It's been a busy month too, with the packing, cleaning and moving, and then once we got here, I immediately started a contract with the delightful Pugwash Farmers' Market that will keep me occupied until the end of September. It's a pretty fun gig and Aldon is helping me out. Lovely people, lots of work.
|
So, I suppose adventure is taking a back seat to work, but we do have a mini trip to Halifax planned for next week. A couple of nights in the city will be a nice change of pace.

purging
You know, I do love an excuse to get rid of stuff, and moving is the best excuse of all! We considered having a yard sale, but ended up just putting everything we didn't want to keep (or have room for) out in the driveway with a "FREE STUFF" sign, posted a photo on the local trade/giveaway site, and let it go! A couple of things spent the night out there, but by the next day pretty much everything was gone.

gardening
Just kidding. I'm not a gardener. My mom is the one with the green thumb, but I can still enjoy her gardens. Flowers and food are growing like crazy. While I'm not much for planting or picking, I'll happily cook/preserve and eat the harvest!

walking
Yes, we do miss the Waterfowl Park, but we're still walking daily and it is beautiful out here as well. We usually stick to the road, and we're often accompanied by Joker, my parents' black lab. Sometimes, depending on the tide times we'll walk on the beach or out on the sandbars. That dog LOVES the water (maybe even more than me).

writing
My creative energy has been completely sapped. I'm sure I'll find a rhythm again, but it's been a struggle this month, I'll admit. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get this email written. I haven't even been able to bring myself to respond to texts and emails from friends this month. If you were expecting to hear from me, but haven't, I'm still here!
